In the old myth, Atlas holds up the sky. To us he stands for every person who builds something with their own mind and carries it into the world.
Three ideas sit underneath everything we make. The individual is sovereign. Reason is the most powerful tool a person has. And beauty is what a clear mind looks like when it makes something.
A person who thinks clearly and acts on it can put the world on their shoulders. That's what we want for every person we build for, and it's the standard the work is held to.
"My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute."
Ayn Rand
// What Atlas stands on
Four things, held up.
01
Individual
Templates are built for the average user. We build for yours: the founder, the team and the customers who'll actually use it.
02
Reason
Every page, flow and feature has a reason you can say out loud. If it can't justify itself, it goes.
03
Beauty
Beauty is respect for the work and for the people who meet it. Nothing ships that we wouldn't put our name on.
04
Ownership
Your domain, your data, your code. A system you hold up yourself, and nobody can switch off.

For the esoterically inclined
A few maps of how Joel is built. They explain the way Atlas works better than a CV ever could.

Astrology · Capricorn
Built to build structure
Five placements in Capricorn, all in Joel's 11th house: Moon and Saturn joined to within a fraction of a degree, with Uranus, Neptune and the North Node at 29°. Capricorn is the architect: structure, discipline and the long game. In the house of the collective, it's the instinct to build systems other people can stand on.

Taste
Human Design · Strongest sense
Felt before it's explained
Taste is Joel's strongest sense in Human Design. When a layout is a few pixels off or a sentence is a word too long, he knows before he can explain why, and it doesn't ship until it's right. It's the sense every Atlas build is judged by.

Gene Keys · Life's Work
Radiating prosperity
Joel's Life's Work is Gene Key 14, and it's about prosperity: helping other people prosper by helping them become more of who they are. That's the brief behind every build. Make you more fully yourself, and let that be what grows the business.

// Outside the studio
Music, creativity and structure.
Outside the studio, Joel's other love is music: making it, performing it, and listening for how it's put together.
What draws him in is the same thing in every form: real creativity standing on a clear structure. A song, a system, a page that moves well. That pairing is what every Atlas build is reaching for.
// The universe
Where Atlas was proven.
Since 2021, Joel and Yerasimos Stilianessis have built Here for the Truth together: a podcast, a community and courses. Joel designed and built the systems underneath all of it.
Atlas grew out of that work, because it kept proving the same thing: when you own the platform, you can build whatever the vision needs next.
