// A guide for renovation & trades contractors

Proposal software
for contractors.

The best proposal software for a renovation or trades business prices each job on your own rates, puts your brand on every page and gets the client's signature online. Most of the big names sell proposals as one feature inside a larger platform. This guide sets out what they cost, what you get, and the option built only for the quote.

// The pitch vs. what you get

A whole platform, to send a quote.

Field-service and construction platforms bundle proposals with scheduling, dispatch, invoicing and job costing. Here's each selling point next to what Proposal OS does instead.

// Getting set up

Setting up is our job.

There's no software to learn and no template to fill in. Your part is a folder of old quotes and one call.

01

Send your old quotes

Ten to fifteen quotes you've already sent show us exactly how you price.

02

One call

Forty minutes on your rates, materials and margins, and the way you word a job.

03

We build it

Your pricing wired into a proposal engine in your brand and colours, on a quick turnaround.

04

You quote

From the site, the truck or the office, on any device. When your rates change, you edit them yourself.

Your partOld quotes. One call. One review. We do everything else.

Proposal OS started as a proposal engine Atlas built for The Print HQ, a live print and embroidery studio in Sydney, which quotes its jobs through it. It's sold as Proposed, and you can try a working version yourself at proposed.world.

// Proposal OS, the real screens

Your rates doing the maths.

Describe the job the way you'd say it, tick the tasks, and the price builds from your own rate table. Every quote sits on one pipeline, from draft to won. These screens are a demo set up for a renovation company.

The Proposal OS pipeline for a renovation company: every job in columns from draft to sent, won, closed and lost
The pipeline · every quote by stage, and what it's worth
Building a kitchen renovation quote: tasks ticked by trade on the left, the live cost on the right
Building a quote · tasks by trade, priced live from the rate table
// What a quote has to do

Win the job before it starts.

01

Price it on your numbers

Labour by the hour, day or task, materials at your markup, measurements that price themselves, travel, access and disposal, tax and your deposit split, applied the same way on every quote.

02

Look like the best firm in town

Cover, who you are, the scope in your own wording, the investment and optional upgrades, in your logo and colours. The client sees your company, never ours.

03

Get it signed tonight

One private link the client opens on their phone. They sign in the browser, a signed copy goes to their inbox, and the deposit request follows straight away.

04

Handle the changes

Change orders go out and get signed the same way, so extra work is agreed in writing before it's done.

// Questions

Contractor proposals, answered.

What is the best proposal software for contractors?

The one that prices a job on your own rates, puts your brand on the page and gets the client's signature online, without making you learn a platform you don't need. Jobber and Housecall Pro include quotes and proposals inside field-service software; JobTread and Buildertrend include them inside construction management software. Proposal OS from Atlas does only the quote: your rate table wired in for you, a proposal in your brand, signed in the browser, with the deposit request emailed the moment the client signs.

How much does Jobber cost in 2026?

As listed on getjobber.com/pricing on 5 October 2026, for one user: Core is $49 a month ($29 billed yearly), Connect is $139 ($99 yearly) and Grow is $199 ($149 yearly). Quotes with rich visuals and optional line items are on Grow. Jobber's Pipeline add-on is $49 a month.

How much does Buildertrend cost?

Buildertrend's pricing page, checked 5 October 2026, says it starts at $499 a month with unlimited users, saves 10% when paid upfront yearly, and that the final price depends on your annual construction volume and onboarding package.

Do I have to change how I price to use Proposal OS?

No. Proposal OS is built around the way you already quote. You send 10 to 15 quotes you've already sent and have one 40-minute call, and your labour rates, materials, markups and allowances are wired in for you.

Does Proposal OS replace my job-management software?

No. It's the quote, the proposal and the pipeline: the part your client sees before they say yes. Keep whatever you run your jobs on.

Can clients sign a proposal on their phone?

Yes. The client opens a private link in their browser, with nothing to download, and signs with a typed or drawn signature. Their name, the date and the total they agreed to are recorded, and a signed copy goes to their inbox.
